Before E-Filing 1099 forms to the State, the State information must be filled out in the
State/Payer’s State No. box on the 1099 Form. This also needs to be formatted a certain way.
For example: NJ/123-123-123/000
On the 1099-NEC form it goes in Box 6, the 1099-MISC form, Box 16 and the 1099-R form, Box 15.
